Obtaining Membership/Getting Started

Post by Admin on Wed May 12, 2010 10:14 pm

The Circle of Healing is a private support forum for people recovering from trauma. Membership to this forum is by special request, referral, or invitation only. It is the intent of this forum to keep things private and relatively small. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email that your registration is being processed. You will then receive one or more emails from The Circle of Healing Administration. We will be requesting the following information in order to process your request: how you found this site, who referred you, and why you would like to join the group. Please be aware that registering alone will not get you into the forum. You must correspond with the forum administration prior to your account being activated. This policy is for the protection of all current and future members of the group as well as for the board itself.

You should also be aware that though this site is for survivors of trauma in general, the majority of members here are also diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder. If you are not DID, but are open to communicating with others that are, you are more than welcome regardless of diagnosis. If however, you feel that it would be uncomfortable for you in any way, we ask that you think it through carefully, maybe discuss it with a therapist, before attempting to join our group. If you are one that does not believe in the diagnosis of DID, we would rather you not join here. If you would like a referral to other support forums that are designed more for those without DID, I would be glad to help you with that.

Once you have joined our group, we ask that you first post an introduction in the Personal Threads section. Create a new topic and use your user name. This will become your own personal thread where you can tell us a little about yourself, talk about things going on in your daily life, etc. These personal threads can also serve as sort of "mailboxes" because you can visit others' threads, get to know them, see what they're up to, write messages to them. If you would like to send someone a private message, however, please use the pm feature.
